Economic Situation relative to Europe |
Since the presentation of the First Austrian Report on Creative Industries (2003) new ideas and initiatives have been introduced within the field of the creative economy. To harness these advances and changes, as well as the existing and on-going potential of the creative sector, the Second Austrian Report on Creative Industries was further developed on the basis of the first report. While the First Austrian Report on Creative Industries defined the term "creative economy" and demonstrates its economic importance, for the first time, in the second report the Austria-specific definition of this important economic sector is reviewed and further developed, and the current economic situation of the indigenous creative sector is presented and compared with those of other European countries. The report was issued by creativ wirtschaft austria on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Labour, the Secretary of State for Art and Media and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
